Schedule
Prescreening:Sunday’s - June 5th,
12th, 19th, 26th
Qualifying rounds:Wednesday's - June 29th, July 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th
Top 5 bands qualify
Finals:Saturday - July 30th

Eligibility:

  • All bands must submit a completed entry form.
  • Styles of Music: Classic Rock, Alt. Rock, Country Rock, R&B, Blues and Reggae Rock.
  • To be eligible you must have at least 3 band members performing at all times.
  • No more than one band member can have ever performed under contract with any band at coyotes within the last 2 years.
  • You must be 21 or over.
  • The band or any of its members cannot be under contract by any recording or performing company.
  • All bands must be pre-screened and reviewed by Coyote's Bar and Grill. Schedule your screening performance live on any one of the Sundays in June. Screening material can be provided and must be of a nature that gives an accurate depiction of the stage quality and music that the band would like to perform. Material provided can be CD's, you tube videos, or any common multimedia type method.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place $500.00 + $250.00 Sony Only gift certificate
  • 2nd Place $250.00 + $100.00 Widmer Gasthaus

Rules:

  • No more than 4 bands will compete on any one Wednesday. One winner from each qualifying round will advance to the finals on July 30th.
  • Each band will perform for no more than 25 minutes. Setup can take no longer than 15 minutes and tear down no longer than 10 minutes.
  • PA system will be provided along with stage help with sound check. A staging area is provided to aid in setup and tear down time.
  • No prerecorded music of any kind is allowed during the qualifying rounds or the finals.
  • If a band member is unable to perform due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances then a substitute may be allowed with the permission of the director of the contest.
  • Absolutely no obscene or offensive lyrics will be allowed. Also, indecent or obscene body gestures will not be permitted. Any of the mentioned will result in immediate disqualification and possibly be the victim of "power down".
  • Pyrotechnics or fog machines are not allowed.
  • Rules are subject to changes only if necessary and all disputes are to made final by the director of the contest.

Scoring:

Judges will award points in each category using a point system.
If bands end up in a tie, the following individual category scores will decide the winner (in order):
  Stage Presentation, Song Quality & Originality, and Audience Response.
